There are a number of good restaurants within 7 to 15 miles of Berry Hill Gardens and the Buckthorn Lodge. We have the menus for many area restaurants and are happy to assist you in making reservations.

Phil and Ellen Cananoco, owners, preside over a friendly and casual eatery with probably the best hamburger you will ever find. They feature a selection of super fresh seafood and prime cuts of beef as well as many other specialties. After dinner enjoy the petting zoo with a collection of exotic animals including llamas, emu, wallaby and miniature horses. 12 minute drive.

Main Street Grill & Bakery - 174 Main Street, Afton, NY 607-639-2223  Where the emphasis on everything is fresh, fresh, fresh! this recent addition to area eateries has homemade soups, great salads and very satisfying dinners. Specialty pastries and confections for all occasions are prepared on the premises. The owner/chef is dedicated to providing healthy and delicious food at reasonable prices. 10 minute drive.

Cream of the Crop Cafe - 2652 State Hwy 7, Bainbridge, NY. 607-967-5664 Located in a restored barn just outside the village, the Café shares the building with an art gallery and specialty gift shop. With reasonable prices, it's a good choice for homemade soups, sandwiches and desserts. A fun place to browse and have lunch. 12 minute drive.

Vincent's Italian Restaurant and Pizza - Main Street, Afton, NY 607-639-2555 Popular, this traditional restaurant serves excellent pizzas and offers an extensive Italian menu in a warm Mediterranean atmosphere. 10 minute drive.

The Yaleville InnHoppie's Ice Cream Parlor - On Lafayette Park, Oxford, NY 607-843-2663  Fun and upbeat, Hoppie's is a tribute to mid-century kitsch. This is a self-proclaimed world famous old fashioned ice cream parlor on Lafayette Park in historic Oxford. Come enjoy an ice cream treat or a simple meal of soup and sandwich. 12 minute drive.

The Yaleville Inn - Route 38, Yaleville Road, Guilford, NY 607-895-6811 Owner/chef Bill Whyte has perhaps the tiniest restaurant you will ever find, in a renovated small barn on the family farm. Treat yourself to a unique dining experience and wonderful food prepared with flair. Reservations a must. 10 minute drive.

Old Mill InnThe Old Mill, Route 8, Mt. Upton, NY 607-764-8300 This fascinating old stone structure from 1791 was once a gristmill, cotton mill, woolen mill, abandoned ruins and is now a distinctive restaurant. Overlooking the Unadilla River, The Old Mill has gained a national reputation as a gracious dining establishment. 20 minute drive.

Roma's Restaurant and Pizzeria, On Lafayette Park, Oxford, NY 607-843-6555 Italian neighborhood-style eatery where the portions are more than generous, the breads homemade and the clientele comes from miles around. 12 minute drive.

Nathaniel Greene's Publick House - 47 Genesee St., Greene, NY 607-656-5001 Located in the historic village of Greene, which is noted for arts and antiques, is an English-style pub where friends meet. The chef-prepared meals are made with all natural ingredients in this family restaurant. Sports TV above the bar. 18 minute drive.

Gus's Steakhouse - 5698 State Highway 12, Norwich, NY 607-336-4777 On the southern outskirts of town they feature a variety of steaks up to 80 oz. and a selection of other entrees. Gus's has very good food which is plentiful and reasonable. 20 minute drive.

Mimi's Italian Cuisine - 28 Genesee Street, Green, NY 607-656-4666 Mimi's dining room offers classic Italian food, a salad bar and there is a pizzeria adjacent in the middle of a charming old village. 18 minute drive.

Clachan Coffee House - 8 Lafayette Park, Oxford, NY 607-843-8413   History lessons and old photos of Oxford are part of the fare where you can meet the locals and find a good selection of teas and coffees. The 1914 building is built from a former horse-drawn lunch wagon, which was carted to road, railroad and canal work sites. A quiet spot for coffee, tea and snacks. 12 minute drive.

The Bohemian MoonLa Maison Blanche Bakery Café - 5420 State Route 12, Norwich, NY (607) 336-9666   Plan to stop for one of their delightful French pastries, which are little works of art, or enjoy a sandwich and beverage in their cafe overlooking the farm fields and distant Chenango River. Located in a converted house just south of Norwich. 18 minute drive.

The Bohemian Moon - 103 East Main Street, Norwich NY 607-334-9480  Located in the heart of Norwich, NY. Lunch is served Tuesday through Friday. Dinner is served Friday and Saturday only. Live Music. Call for information on performances.
