Berry Hill Gardens and the
Buckthorn Lodge offers our guests over
300 acres of woods, meadows, lake, pond and a beautiful unspoiled 20 acre
beaver pond that is part of the Federally protected wetlands. Many species
of wildlife abound including whitetail deer, turkey, quail, pheasant,
rabbits and fox. There are many endangered species of wildflowers
including Trillium, Jack in the pulpit, Lady's slipper, ginseng and wild
ramps. You can hike to you hearts content without leaving
Berry Hill
gardens. Fishing can be done in the large beaver pond or in the private
lake. Garden Strolling and Bird watching are favorite pastimes for many of
our guests and come and gaze at the stars without interference from
streetlights. During the winter months you can cross country ski and
snowshoe right out the front door.
