Jock MacRae, Master
Painter
Jock MacRae has painted and taught workshops in Chenango County and at
Berry Hill Gardens for over ten years. He taught painting classes at the
Weir Farm National Historic Site in Wilton, Ct., the only National Park
Service Site dedicated to American Painting. Jock is presently teaching
painting classes at the Katonah Art Studio in Katonah, NY. He received the
NY State Council of the Arts Grant in 1995 for a series of paintings
depicting the wetlands of Chenango County. Jock completed his formal
education in 1962 at the Arts Student League in Manhattan, NY. In 1980 he
established the Wyckoff Gallery, and in 1992, the Bengert-MacRae Gallery,
both in N.J. He was director of the Mandala Center for the Arts in New
Jersey and founded the Wyckoff School of Art in 1970. Mr. MacRae's
paintings are in many corporate collections including those of Sony, G.E.,
AT&T, and Remington-Rand as well as in many private collections.
He has shown in many galleries and received awards throughout the United
States and Canada.
